I’m not a huge music snob. In fact, I listen to everything from a little country to old school techno to even a little “Mmm bop” every now and then. My music taste is like goulash - I listen to just about everything.
I stumbled upon a new artist I’m totally digging named Yoav. It’s a little different than most of the stuff you hear, slightly dark and a touch mellow yet it makes me want to dance a little.
Close your eyes and crank it up. ;)
Below is the official music video for “Beautiful Lie”
This is of my favorite songs right now “Club Thing”.

I’m the same - I listen to just about everything. In fact, just today when I was listening to music, I noticed an old song in my collection: “Mmm Bop!” Was actually considering deleting it though, because I haven’t listened to it in years.
I think I will go check out more of Yoav’s music. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for pointing Yoav out. I have never heard of him but I really like these songs. Going to check him out further! :)
I tend to like the lesser known musicians for some weird reason. A group you might be interested in is “The Daylights”. I really love their music.

You know, I sat here for an hour or so after reading this post, thinking about my comment. The reason? It was YOU who first pointed me to “The Daylights.” LOL. So, how does it feel to have someone recommend a band to you that you first recommended to them? Color me red.
I searched your site for The Daylights to check my story and do the research I should have done before posting and I saw your original post (http://www.larissameek.com/2008/03/26/music-highlight-the-daylights/).
What was even cooler was seeing this post from a year ago where you posted my FAVORITE song of theirs. Goodbye Summer (http://www.larissameek.com/2007/01/12/the-daylights-a-band-to-keep-your-eye-on/).
To get the the point..sorry for the length, I wanted to say thank you. I absolutely love “The Daylights” and I’m eager to get my hands on their new album. And to also say I really like your taste in music.

oooh yes, i remember. he opened up for Tori Amos last year. I thought that song was forever lost. Forgot his name, forgot the name of song. but the melody stuck. once i played ‘club thing ‘above…connected once again!

Also, i must agree with Mostly Lisa. SUfjuan Stevens is a music delight (to some). I recommend “Come On! Feel the Illinois!”. So many gorgeous layers.
