I’m an admitted dog lover but the video below (after the jump) made me want a cat. Sometimes I think I should have been a vet because I’ve always had a soft spot for furry creatures.
I had 14 pet rats in high school. Yes, 14 pet rats and they were incredibly clever little creatures. One day I went to a pet store and decided to get a rat because I wasn’t allowed to have a dog. I couldn’t have just one because it would have been lonely so I purchased two. Laughably, the pet store owner told me that because the rats were brother and sister they would not mate. Ha! Yeah, right. I didn’t realize that they would breed so quickly. At least my biology teacher was impressed. Yes, rats can be cute.
I ended up with 14 rats and my Mom was not all too happy. Luckily, I had some friends who adopted the new furry additions and they found happy homes. I adored those little creepy-tailed nibblers, even though everyone thought I was crazy. They would even run to me when I called their names.
So… back to the point. The video below is about Charley the disabled Cat and it shows that love can be found in the most unexpected places.
Just because something isn’t perfect, doesn’t mean it can’t be lovable – even if it’s a rat or a very special cat.

Between the five dogs and three cats running around on this West Virginia hill top, how can one not feel blessed with their unconditional love? We never have a dull moment.
I wish Larissa, Lucy, Wiki, and all of the posters, a peaceful Christmas and a great New Year.

Your post is a wonderful Christmas present for me. The picture of the mouse was precious. If I’m ever in prison, I hope one is in my cell.
And that video of the cat was perfectly heartwarming. I lost my cat after 20 years and two weeks later heard a bird in my garage calling out. It wasn’t a bird, rather the tiniest of kittens. To this day I’ll never figure out how that little kitten got in my garage as I’m on 22 acres and my driveway is 600 feet long.
My retriever immediately pounced on it and grabbed the baby kitten in his mouth and tried to shake it to death. I screamed and pulled the kiten out of his mouth, then took the kitten to the vet because she couldn’t walk after that incident.
3 years later, Nica is all over my farm…up in the barn loft…chasing rabbits…and she’s the best cat I’ve ever had.
Nica and my retriever are now best of friends.

That kitty is so adorable!! :) I’m also a dog person, but I have a soft spot for any furry creature. This makes me want to go rescue some cats! Thanks for sharing.
