A Bird Ca,e Down

This wallpaper, called A Bird Came Down, was inspired by a  recent trip to the Miami Metro Zoo and is based on a photograph I took of this beautiful bird. I don’t recall what kind of bird it is exactly but I was entranced by the subtle shade of blue and stoic elegance.

For further inspiration I found a poem by one of my all time favorite poets, Emily DIckinson, which I named the wallpaper after.

———————————————

Bird Came Down

A bird came down the walk:
He did not know I saw;
He bit an angle-worm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw.

And then he drank a dew
From a convenient grass,
And then hopped sidewise to the wall
To let a beetle pass.

He glanced with rapid eyes
That hurried all abroad,–
They looked like frightened beads, I thought;
He stirred his velvet head

Like one in danger; cautious,
I offered him a crumb,
And he unrolled his feathers
And rowed him softer home

Than oars divide the ocean,
Too silver for a seam,
Or butterflies, off banks of noon,
Leap, splashless, as they swim.

- Emily Dickinson

Here’s another wallpaper. It occurred to me that carousel horses were stunning works of art in their own right. I was recently inspired by the color and ornate details. After I had spent some time doodling, I brought it into PhotoShop and morphed it into a simple scene. Multiple sizes are available below. This wallpaper is free but not to be used commercially or for profit. Feel free link here to share with your friends.

Love Wallpaper

It’s almost Valentine’s day and that means cute cards taped with lollipops… Or MAYBE you’ll send a sweet note to that secret crush.

Inspired by Valentine’s Day, I created a wallpaper using a mix of 3D modeling and PhotoShop love.

I miss drawing. Sometimes I feel a bit rusty from working on a computer all day long. Tonight, I curled up with my favorite sketchbook and just let my imagination guide me.

Below is the result brought into PhotoShop where I added a punch of sloppy color - purposely defying the natural perfection a computer tends to exude.

And - here is another bit a found in my sketchbook from a while ago.
