Hi, I'm Larissa – a design executive based in sunny South Florida.

Welcome to my little corner of the web! I'm Larissa Meek, and I wear quite a few hats as a mom, step-mom, wife, design enthusiast, costume creator and artist. For over two decades, I've been at the crossroads of digital transformation and creativity working as designer and consultant.

I'm most known for being a creative leader at a 'Big 4' consulting firm and before that at a digital agency where I've contributed towards a number of awards-winning projects including accolades for the Webby, Best in Show at SXSW and many FWA's. While much of my job has been about driving business value and sales through the lens of experience design, I'm most passionate about developing my team's craft and curiosity for learning new skills.

For a deeper dive into my professional journey, LinkedIn has the full story.  Also, I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities – so let's chat!

My journey began in at a small midwest agency, analyzing design trends in newspaper ads for companies ranging from mattress sellers to tire dealers, and compiling these insights into a quarterly report. Remember when using a CD burner was the pinnacle of tech? Those were the days!

My roots are in 3D animation and fine art. This background, coupled with my curiosity, led me to explore Adobe Flash, HTML/CSS, and a bit of PHP. And thus began my love affair with design + tech. In 2001, web design was my side gig. Juggling art creation and modeling/acting, I embraced the web as a vibrant platform to showcase and sell my art, bypassing traditional gallery constraints. Entrepreneurship is in my DNA, and I soon launched my own freelance web design and development company.

Fast forward to 2005. Post my adventure on a reality TV show, I relocated from Los Angeles to South Florida. There, I joined AgencyNet, a renowned digital agency. Some of my fondest memories involve crafting a miniature town on a pool table and transforming these creations into a digital wonderland for the Own Your Choice anti-smoking campaign. Our efforts were recognized at SXSW, where we clinched the best in show!

After AgencyNet, I transitioned to BGT Partners as a creative director, leading our Florida-based creative team. Shortly after, we merged with a major consulting firm, PwC.

During my 11-year tenure in consulting, I climbed the design ladder, eventually managing a team of over 40 incredibly talented designers across the U.S. and India. I spearheaded client-facing large-scale digital transformations, keeping human-centered design at the forefront. My responsibilities ranged from sales and contract negotiations to engagement management, but delivering creative solutions was always my passion.

I've gained invaluable insights throughout my career, and I'm eager to share these with the rising stars in the design world. And now, with generative AI reshaping the creative landscape, the possibilities are endless. Yet, the human touch in creativity and storytelling remains irreplaceable.
In my personal space, I've reignited my passion for this website/blog. After years of focusing on family, it feels right to share my thoughts and experiences once more.If you know me, you're aware of my love for illustration, especially when it comes to character design, and my enthusiasm for Halloween. There's something deeply satisfying about crafting costumes and experimenting with materials like foam and airbrushing. At heart, I'm an artist through and through. Recently, I've been exploring AI tools, which amusingly influence my real-world art. When I'm not working, you'll find me crafting with my daughter or diving into virtual reality adventures with my son.

Thanks for stopping by, and I can't wait to connect and create together!
